Welcome to FiddleStitches!
The Creator Behind FiddleStitches & Sawdust
Hi I’m Melissa the maker, finisher & dreamer of FiddleStitches & Sawdust. I live in Newberg Oregon where I have a studio upstairs and a woodshop next to the house. Most days it’s pretty easy to find me, I’m in one or the other!

Expert Quilting Services with a Personal Touch
FiddleStitches & Sawdust is my dream come true business that offers long arm quilting services and Wooden Quilt Blocks. I have been long arm quilting for over 20 years. From custom quilting to edge to edge and lots in between. I work on each project partnering with clients ensuring the design fits their style, works with their quilt pattern and is inside their budget. My customers include quilt shops, designers and best of all, individuals who love to be creative. I have customers both near and far. Those who are local, can schedule a time to drop their quilts off at the studio or we can meet up at one of the local quilt shops nearby. Mailing straight to my door works great too!
The Sawdust Story
The “Sawdust” part of FiddleStitches started in 2019. The blocks are made from upcycled fencing and pieces are individually cut to create, well just about any quilt pattern you may think of! I have kits, ready-made blocks and take commission work. Before you ask, no I don’t do all the cutting. I have help from family – mostly my son along with my daughter, grandsons and the best sweetheart of a guy, my hubby.
Join a Wooden Quilt Block Workshop
A third and new segment to my business is holding workshops letting you create your own Wooden Blocks – sort of like “Build a Bear” but it’s “Build a Wooden Quilt Block” – I love pairing the workshops with sharing my story at quilting guilds. We really do have a ton of fun!
