This block is often called Flower Basket - however as I continue to learn about how blocks are named, the source I was reading said it was known by several other names but didn't share what they were! I love how simple it looks, but let me tell you, that's a lot of half square triangles in there, which is anything except simple! Happy to make this in any color combination! -

Flower Basket Block - funny how quickly you can change the flavor of a block by changing colors! I think this gray peppercorn and washed off peppercorn make a striking pair. I call it rustic elegant - what would you say it is? -

I've always loved this quilt pattern. So traditional yet fits into a modern setting very well. We painted this on in fall colors - using a rich buttery cream and a wonderful pumpkin color. I can almost smell the pies and bread baking! -
Who was the Farmer's Daughter? I'd love to know, quilt block names are a mystery to me! One of the things I really like about this block is it’s simplicity, and yet it has quite a bit of visual interest. Even though it’s clearly a traditional design, it still translates well into modern quilts. The Farmer’s Daughter Quilt Block pattern is made up of simple squares and half square triangles typically using three colors - but how cute would it be with just two... -
I often describe this as a Rustic Quilt Ladder, but really it works great in urban chic, modern or in a farmhouse settings!
