Who was the Farmer's Daughter? I'd love to know, quilt block names are a mystery to me! One of the things I really like about this block is it’s simplicity, and yet it has quite a bit of visual interest. Even though it’s clearly a traditional design, it still translates well into modern quilts. The Farmer’s Daughter Quilt Block pattern is made up of simple squares and half square triangles typically using three colors - but how cute would it be with just two... -
I often describe this as a Rustic Quilt Ladder, but really it works great in urban chic, modern or in a farmhouse settings! One of my favorite Quilt Blocks - perfect for Spring! Did you know watching the flight path of geese was used as a guide to find water, food and places to rest? This 12 x 12 x1.5 inch square is a good example of flying geese flight patterns! Made from individually cut pieces of wood, painted, glued together and framed. No two blocks are alike! -
